He will restore the joy of your salvation!

September 24, 2017

“Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit” Psalms 51:12, NKJV.

There were a couple of things that happened to me recently that caused me to get something powerful from God. First, while talking with my wife, she asked me what happened to Bernard? What happened to being the man that jumps and take leaps?” I said within myself, “I’m right here!” And what I meant by that was, the same man that I was when I first got saved, the man that took risks, that had a pure heart, a pure faith and a pure love for God, that man that kept this walk with God simple, had risen within me.

On another occasion, I went to a church meeting recently. At this meeting, there were several apostles, pastors and men who had been in ministry for a long time. They were gathered there to interview new potential deacons. One of the men that were asked to be a deacon stood out to me because of his heart. He wasn’t eloquent, and you really had to listen closely to understand what he was saying, but I understood what he meant as he talked about his love and service for God. I then stood up and congratulated him on becoming a deacon and I told him that he had a pure heart and to not allow anything to change that.

In this life, it is important that you not allow anything to change the pureness of your heart and your faith, because the Christian walk is not complicated. It’s simply all about knowing Jesus and doing what He says. Don’t allow tradition or religion to complicate what being a Christian and disciple is. Love God. Love people. The same pure love and faith you had when you first got saved, don’t let anything or anyone take that away from you. Maybe when you first gave your life to the Lord, you were fearless and you just wanted to serve the LORD. You weren’t full of concern about people and their opinions. You didn’t have anything to hide. You simply wanted to meet people’s needs. Let God restore the joy of your salvation and the simplicity of living for Him. You will experience the most fruitful and joyful life you’ve ever had!

Prayer: Father, I ask that You restore the joy of my salvation. Restore the simplicity of living for you. My life is all about being an extension of Jesus Christ and lending a helping hand to someone in need today. That’s it. That’s it and I refuse to let the devil get me to complicate this walk with You. Help me not to be fearful or stagnant. Help me to learn more of You Jesus and enjoy doing the good works You have asked of me. Be glorified in my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
