Pluck It Out

December 6, 2019

“If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell” Matthew 5:29, NKJV.

There come mature moments in your life when you say you want more of Him, you want His will, and you decide to be honest and upfront with yourself about what’s keeping you back. There are some things that aren’t good for you, and it’s evident that there are some things that you can’t handle. Jesus says it’s wise to pluck it out. If something (which can be anything) is causing you to sin and is controlling you, if having too much is affecting your walk and time with Christ, if it’s even becoming an idol in your life, you’ve got to pluck it out. It’s better to cut it off and have victory than to lose what God has for you.

Plucking out something will hurt. Yet, it’s better to miss some games than to miss His promises. It’s better to lose that woman than to lose your family. It’s better to lose those magazines than to lose your soul. It’s a serious matter and you know what to do.

Do it. Pluck it out.

Prayer: Father, thank You for tough love. Only You knew what I needed to hear. I hear You speaking and I’m plucking it out. I recognize some things aren’t good for me and there are some things that I can’t handle. I choose to trust You in this area and press on into what You desire of me. After obedience, there is always a blessing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Study: Matthew 5:28-30, Romans 6:23, Galatians 5:7 & 16-24
