Pause…

March 28, 2020

“Thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways. Go up to the hills and bring wood and build the house, that I may take pleasure in it and that I may be glorified, says the Lord” Haggai 1:7-8, ESV.

It’s interesting how we find out how much we loved something when it is taken away. It’s also a good thing when you can pause and really see just how much something had a hold on you in your life more than God. Amid what is happening in the world, we have had no choice but to pause and notice where our hearts really are.

In this moment, pause and consider where your heart is. Have you been loving anyone or anything more than your Maker. Has the things of the world brought you more delight than Jesus Christ. Has your time been consumed in pleasures more than your purpose and calling.

While you were living your daily life, you may have been too busy to see where your affection is, but God has paused you so you can see now. He needs you to run after the pause.

Prayer: Father, all I can say is wow. Thank You for speaking to me. You know every part of me. I appreciate the pause to help me consider my ways. I appreciate the pause to help me see myself. Forgive me if I have put anything before You. I thank You for Your great mercy and grace. My whole heart and life is Yours. I will do Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
