Look into their eyes and be moved.

March 16, 2019

“But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few” Matthew 9:36-37, NKJV.

Sometimes at work, I feel like getting in my car and going home. Yet, I am moved to stay because I see my family. I am moved to keep working hard because I see my kid’s faces, knowing their need. In spite of my weariness, I continue on laboring for them.

Jesus was working faithfully in doing what He was sent here to do and the Bible says, “When He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion.” God is looking for the man that can see beyond himself and into the eyes of those around him and be moved to help. In spite of how you feel, or even in your weariness, keep laboring for God. When you look at the lost, the homeless, the men in prison, the young men around you, see their need for God. Look at them with Jesus’ eyes of compassion. See they have no shepherd and no light. Be moved to reach out more. Be moved to go a little farther, and be a laborer in the harvest.

Prayer: Father God, I thank You for Your truth and for giving me understanding. Let me be moved with compassion in reaching the lost. Help me see people with your eyes of compassion. Help me to not get weary, but to stay a moving and active laborer in your harvest. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
