If you desire to bear fruit, live in the Spirit

May 12, 2017

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law” Galatians 5:22-23, NKJV.

The Bible refers to love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control as the fruit of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is like a mighty tree that bears all of this amazing fruit, and just like physical fruit, they are good and they satisfy.

Every one of these fruits come, flow out of, are produced by the Holy Spirit. They aren’t anything we can bear in and of ourselves. They all extend from the Holy Spirit, which we can receive and continually bear. No matter the situation, if you live in the Spirit, you will bear whatever fruit your challenge calls for because this mighty Tree doesn’t grow in the ground. This mighty Tree lives inside of you.

Everything you need to maintain your stance in God in these times, to love, to have self-control, to be good to others, to be a man of joy and peace, and respond like Him each day, is found not in your own ability, but by living in the Holy Spirit. Full your mouth, and your home with song and praise. Full your mind with His Word, let Him lead you and live in the Spirit.

Prayer: Father, thank You for Your mighty Spirit that lives inside of me. Teach me how to live in Him. Help me to full my home and my mouth with praise. Help me to keep my mind on Your Word. Help me to stay full of Your Spirit, that I may glorify You by the fruit my life bears. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
