A Complete Reliance

April 18, 2020

“But He has said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.’ Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me” 2 Corinthians 12:9, Amplified.

You were never called to be self-reliant. You are called to a complete reliance on God. This reliance is where your power, that is where your depth, that is where your root of strength, your anchor of strength comes from.

It will never be your hedge of protection. It will always be His hedge of protection. It will never be your countenance. It will be His countenance that lifts people and leaves them at a standstill when they see the joy of the Lord in you. No matter what is surrounding you, the Lord has you surrounded. You have comfort within the discomfort. You’ve been given light within the darkness, and this is never manufactured. It is through the Lord. It is His joy and His strength that bears you up as you rely on Him.

Prayer: Father, I am encompassed by You. I am in awe of You and all that You are. I am thankful that You will be all that You are for me. I can rely on You. I don’t have to rely on myself. I bless Your name for the glory being revealed in me. Help me to come and press into more of You in my life, as I give up depending on me. I depend on You. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
