“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you” Luke 6:38, NKJV.
My son said to me, “Guess what daddy? Christian (brother) was sad today at the store because he needed a dollar to buy something, so I gave him one.” “That’s great. That was nice of you”, I said. He then hesitantly responded, “Yeah, mommy said God will bless me, but I don’t believe it.” I then reminded Him of how God has blessed him before, and he remembered and was glad.
Some of us may have had the same experience. God asks you to give and you do it for the right reason, yet you doubt that you’ll be blessed in your giving. Yet, if you remember the times that you have given before, there was not a time that God didn’t bless you, and that should make you glad. According to His Word, when you give, He will give back to you pressed down, shaken together and running over will He cause men to give to you. He may cause men to give back to you in money, it could be with favor, help, mercy, wisdom, knowledge that people usually pay for, an opportunity, or something that you need.
From money, time and resources, imitate the Father and be a giver. When you do good for God, He will always cause more good to come back to you. That’s the heart of God. You will never out give Him. Not that you do it to get; that’s just how good God is, and His desire is to bless you.
Prayer: Father, thank You for speaking to me about giving. I will give, and I will not doubt You. I remember how You blessed me before and it makes me glad. No one loses when I give. You want me to know that You desire to bless me, therefore, I believe You. You are just that good. Help me to always be a cheerful about giving to advance Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
