He Heals Lame Men

June 24, 2017

“Jonathan, Saul’s son, had a son who was lame in his feet. He was five years old when the news about Saul and Jonathan came from Jezreel; and his nurse took him up and fled. And it happened, as she made haste to flee, that he fell and became lame. His name was Mephibosheth” 2 Samuel 4:4, NKJV.

Mephibosheth was the son of Jonathan, David’s closest friend. He was mistakenly dropped when he was five years old and he became lame.

This is something that happens to some of us men. For various reasons, our father wasn’t present in our lives. Whether he passed away, went to prison, became addicted to drugs, or simply didn’t want to be there, we were left without a father. They dropped us. Or someone besides your parents were left to raise you up and didn’t give you what you needed. They may not have meant to, but they did. Ultimately, they fell short of giving us some important things as a man in life that could have made our course a lot smoother, a lot better.

Yet, like when David became king, so has Jesus done for you. He sought out someone of Jonathan’s household to show kindness to and found Mephibosheth. He brought him from dwelling in Lodebar–a place without pasture–into a place of restoration of eveeything that belonged to Jonathan’s father Saul, and to always eat at his table (2 Samuel 9:5-9).

God sent His Son Jesus to find you in a place without pasture and carry you into a place of restoration. No matter what happened, He will make life as a dream. What seemed like couldn’t be turned around, what door couldn’t be opened, what couldn’t be changed in you, He will do. Be encouraged because God will make your latter better than how you beginning. No matter what you’ve been through, like Mephibosheth, the Father will make your end to be at the King’s table.

Prayer: God, I was made lame and lacked many things as a man. As a result, I made some mistakes in life. Made some wrongs turns. Yet, You heal lame men. I surrender to You Lord. Like Mephiboseth, pick me up King Jesus. Carry me to your table and restore me. Be a Father to me God and open doors of favor for me. I thank You for healing my life now. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
