Handling Missed Opportunities

January 31, 2020

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before” Philippians 3:13, KJV.

One thing about missed opportunities, if you’re not careful, they can take your attention off the ones that are right in front of you. If you dwell on missed opportunities, if you give them your attention, if you live in their regret, they have a way of causing you to miss more.

The best response and comfort for a missed opportunity is wisdom. It is wise to take your eyes from looking backward and look forward. Look at what is in your hands. Look at what is all around you. I guarantee there should be something you see and something good the Lord is speaking to you. It is wise to dwell on the opportunities that God is presenting to you right now.

The Lord always turns it around, restores us, and sets us in a place where it will be as if we never missed an opportunity at all. Listen to His wisdom and move on to the opportunities ahead.

Prayer: Yes, Lord, I missed it. Yet, I receive Your mighty wisdom today. Establish Your wisdom in me and give me eyes to see what is before me now, what Your plan is now. Give me ears to hear what You still are going to bring to pass. I thank You for new opportunities for my family and me now. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
