Give me a clean heart.

April 7, 2019

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” Hebrews 4:12, NKJV.

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh” Ezekiel 36:26, NKJV.

The heart is a vital organ to all of us. It is the core of the body and without it, the entire body cannot function. When some people find they have a condition of the heart, they may require heart surgery for it to work properly again.

For some of us, we can tell something is wrong in our spiritual heart, because it’s not functioning properly. It’s not beating like it should. Our pursuit, our intents and our motives are not what we know they should be. We’ve become full of fear, instead of full of faith. We are compromising in our walk with Christ. Maybe your heart has become hard and you don’t seek God like you use to.

This is not the time to continue on. God, the Great Physician, is desiring to do real spiritual heart surgery, just like a physical one, in your life. As a doctor uses a scalpel to perform physical surgery, God uses His word to perform His. He will take your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. What He speaks through His word truly can make you free. Then, set yourself to get before God in prayer, get into His presence and He will help you live again.

Prayer: Father, I give You praise. You know exactly where I am in my heart as a man. I need You to work on my heart. Give me a clean heart. Help me to let Your word, the exact scriptures, to change me and I believe in the changing power of Your word. By the light of Your truth, by the power of Your Spirit, make me free and cause me to live. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Study: Psalm 24:3-5, 51:6 & 10; John 8:32, 2 Timothy 3:16
