Run and Obtain

April 6, 2019

“Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it” 1 Corinthians 9:24, NKJV.

Since you have to run in this life of faith, run in the way that causes you to win it all. Know that the same God that put you in the race, is the same God that will empower you and defend you to the finish, no matter what, or who tries to stand in your way.

When you run in a way to obtain, the devil–your adversary–recognizes the way you are running and takes notice. He sees a resemblance of Jesus Christ in you. He sees a godly man full of faith, focus, self-control and joyful diligence, pressing toward more of God and His will being done in his life. He knows that you will receive if he doesn’t pursue to derail you, especially as you get closer to the goal. However, he can’t keep you from growing. He can’t keep you from climbing. He can’t keep you from winning.

Run and keep your eyes on obtaining the prize Jesus Christ. In him, you will find every ounce of grace for your race and every promise awaiting you.

Prayer: Father, I give You praise today. Teach me how not only to run, but to run in such a way that I obtain. I desire more of Christ formed in me. From faith to love, help me to add them to my life today. Through You, I can do all the things. Through You, I can lay hold of what You have for my life. I thank You for Your power and grace to obtain Your promises and eternal prize for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
