Reminded of the God you know

May 4, 2019

“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save…” Zephaniah 3:17, ESV.

If you’re a coach and I recommend a player to add to your team that you could trust to help you win basketball games, but you’ve never seen him, you would ask to see his stats. He’s 6’8″ and 33-0 in his career. He’s won several championships and MVP’s. He shoots an astonishing 95% from the free throw line and 55% from the field. In the final minutes of a crucial game-time situation, you would have faith in him.

You’ve never seen God physically, but He’s never lost a battle. He has all power in His hands. He is good and a Rewarder of them that seek Him. With an outstretched arm He rescued Israel from the hands of Egypt. He has carried Israel like He said He would, and this tiny nation still stands today. He has never left the righteous. He is the Healer. Go and stand on the beach and see how far the mighty ocean can come to your feet–God set that boundary (Prov. 8:29). At the same time, He split the Red Sea. He loves us beyond our mistakes, obliterated sin by giving His only begotten son Jesus for us, and He raised him from the dead.

Know Who is on your side and let it bring you joy. Even under pressure, whatever you’re facing, remind yourself of the victory you have in Christ Jesus and the God you know.

Prayer: Father, I praise You today. I know You to be my Rock. You are on my side. As I read and think on the God I know, my joy is rising! Open my eyes to see all that You are and remind me there’s nothing too hard for You. May it increase my faith and change my moment, and change my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
