Be a Forgiving Man

March 3, 2021

“Then Peter came to Him and said, ‘Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven’” Matthew 18:21-22, NKJV.

“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma”

The truth is we will be forgiving people for the rest of our lives. Even in times like these, people are frustrated, emotional, and fighting fear, which we can then find ourselves hurting one another. Yet, you have an opportunity to display the love of God. You have an opportunity to imitate the Father. Forgiveness causes others to not only know of God, but to feel how He eternally feels about them.

If there was a time that people need to see God expressed, it is now. With the same mercy and goodness God commands to follow you (Psalm 23:6), so God says allow it to freely function in your relationship with others, willing to always make things right.

Prayer: Father, Thank You for all the forgiveness You’ve poured in my life. I pray You help me be like You show others this same love in these times. Right now I forgive everyone who has hurt me and imitate You, walking in love. I allow the power of forgiveness to cause others to know You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Study: Psalm 103:12, Matthew 6:14-15, Luke 17:4, 1 John 1:9 & 2:1
