Anticipate the goodness of God!

March 6, 2018

“Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!) Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His mercy and lovingkindness endure forever!” Psalm 106:1, Amplified.

“Surely goodness and mercy and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life…” Psalm 23:6a, Amplified.

The Lord wants us as His people to receive a steady dose that He is good. If He was good before, He will be good again. Your past isn’t all the goodness you are ordained to see, but He will be good to you in your future and in the days to come.

You may not know how or when, but He wants you to anticipate His goodness toward you. Anticipate means to look forward to as certain; regard as probable; expect or predict. Things may not appear to be going as you would like or you need a great change within, but keep anticipating His goodness. You may be waiting for an open door or a job opportunity, but you keep anticipating, looking forward to as certain and expect something good from God!

This is the reason the psalmist declares to keep thanksgiving on your lips and His praise in your heart. This understanding that He’s good will keep you praising Him, in spite of what you see or feel.

Even in your darkest hour, praise Him in the midst. You shall see the goodness and mercy of God show up in your life. It follows you wherever you go, and just when it seems like the devil is going to win, the Lord shows Himself strong toward us with goodness in His hands.

Prayer: Father, You are good! Because You are good, I praise You Lord and I thank You! Your love abounds toward me! You have been good and you will continue to be good to me. Help me to always anticipate Your goodness in my life. Let my faith stand on this mighty truth. You will bless me. You will provide. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
