A man that secretly throws in the towel.

“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses” 1 Timothy 6:12, NKJV.

In a boxing match, a trainer always knows his fighter and how much he can handle. When he feels his fighter is taking a beating and his opponent is too much for him, he concedes and throws in the towel to stop the fight in defeat.

Have you secretly thrown in the towel? As a man, with all that’s in front of you, it feels like your fight is just too much. You can an outside show that you’re fine, but you’ve quit on something on the inside, and nobody knows except you and God. Jesus knows how you feel. He was tempted at all points, including the temptation to throw in the towel before the cross. He was faced with the fight of his life and He was tempted to give up. You are not alone.

Yet even in the fight of our lives, we find there is no towel in the hand of God. The Almighty Who is for you doesn’t have a towel because He always wins. He won’t ever quit on you and He already knows your outcome. He is in the fight with you. He will never allow what you experience to forfeit your victory and His glory. The level of your fight confirms our constant need for God, and the level of blessing that you’re about to receive. So hold on, obey God and be swiftly encouraged by the Lord stay in your fight. He’s already won it for you.

Prayer: Father, I needed this. Nobody knows what I am going through but You. I feel like throwing in the towel. Forgive me if I have quit on You. I repent and get back into my good fight of faith. Give me the strength to lead my family. I ask for Your grace to do what I can’t do myself. It’s a good fight because You’ve already won. I am victorious. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
