“The lazy man does not roast what he took in hunting, but diligence is man’s precious possession.” Proverbs 12:27, NKJV.

A lazy man, knowing that he needs to eat, will not cook what he caught. It is amazing that the Bible describes this man as lazy. From the onset, you would say he at least gets credit for his hunting, but there is a point that scripture wants to reveal to us.

Laziness or procrastination can come at any point while we are pursuing God’s will for our lives, even when it’s time to prepare, and when it’s time to seize what He has for us. There are seasons that we enter into that call for our utmost diligence in order to seize the moment and seize the doors that God has opened. You have the opened door, you have the opportunity, you have the favor, you have the support, yet you also have to remain diligent to walk through them. Your diligence will determine whether you eat of what God has set before you.

This is why God calls your diligence your precious possession. It will help you eat of what you have pursued, what you have waited so long for, what you have worked so hard for, what you have endured and believed God for. Now it is before you. It’s time to prepare what God has blessed you with and enter into what He has for your life.

Just as excited as you are in knowing God’s will, remain just as excited to execute it. You’ve started strong, now finish strong also.

Prayer: Father, thank You for Your Word today. You have placed everything I need before me. Help me to not let up now. I come against any hindering spirit in Jesus name. Refresh me Father. I ask for strength by Your Spirit and stir up diligence in me in this moment in my life. Thank You for the grace and vigilance to seize this time in my life and finish strong. Glory to God! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
