Go After Your Family

May 5, 2018

“What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them gets lost, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountain and go in search of the one that is lost?” Matthew 18:12, Amp.

During the course of my day, I always pursue to listen to the Holy Spirit to see if there is anyone the Lord will want me to encourage or share Christ with. Then, one day as I was looking at Facebook, I came across a post from one of my cousins, who seems to always have posts about no one cares, his problems and what he’s going through. The Holy Spirit spoke to me and said that’s who I want you to go after. You’re so focused on strangers, but you have one right in your midst that is lost.

There is a place for witnessing to people you don’t know to help and witness to, but God simplifies ministry, directing us to go after those that are already close to us that need Him–our family. You’ve been divinely connected to them. There are those already near, that if you slow down, watch and pray, He will show you someone that you just may be overlooking.

The Lord didn’t intend on your spreading of the Gospel to be complicated, but very simple. Ask yourself what would show the love of God to them the most–right now? What is their real need, and how can you meet it? Some men in your family need your time, and some need wisdom on how to successfully live their lives. Some have been giving up on and forgotten, and God wants you to step in and say He hasn’t.

I challenge you to target one family member and reach them. Leave your comfort, and go after them. Your ability to change lives is close to you. Sharing Jesus is easier than you think, and the devil doesn’t want you to receive a mighty revelation of that.

Prayer: Father, thank You for Your word today. Thank You for simplifying ministry. Help me to minister to that have been giving up on and forgotten. That family member that is always posts on Facebook about their problems–I pray for them. That person you know down the hall that talks to me all the time–I pray for them. Help me to love my family and go after them. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
