Seek the Lord Early

January 11, 2019

“Oh, satisfy us early with Your mercy, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days!” Psalm 90:14, NKJV.

There’s nothing like seeking God early, when no one is awake but you. It is quiet and peaceful–a table set for prayer. Before the busyness of life begins, let it just be you and God.

He wants to be the first One to speak to you. He wants to give you water in a dry land. He’ll cause you to start your day encouraged, not discouraged. He will minister grace and wisdom to you, and give you the insight of His will for the day ahead.

Not only seek Him early in your day, seek Him early with your decisions. Before next month comes, pray about it. When a situation arises, seek Him early instead of when you get in the middle of it and you find trouble. He wants to show you what to do and what to prepare for.

It can be a challenge to get out of the bed, but when the Lord tugs on your heart, and you realize the Lord is here, it means that He is calling you and He has something to say. That is the time He wants to show you great and mighty things and bless your life.

Prayer: Father, I praise You and I thank You for the quietness that comes with seeking You early. Thank You for the peace early in the morning. I am here to fellowship with You. Speak to me through Your holy Word. Build in me a discipline of seeking you early when You wake me up. Give me insight for Your will for my life today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
