“He who follows righteousness and mercy finds life, righteousness, and honor” Proverbs 21:21, NKJV.
There’s something powerful about living right and being merciful. God will give you life, righteousness, and honor.
When you seek after living right, when you are content with living in a way that pleases God, you will find the benefits, the prosperity, the peace, and the reward that living right brings. Living right isn’t an empty cup; it is full of the life God has for you in Christ Jesus. It is full of the leadership, conviction and strength that people look up to. When you do your job, you do it right. When you deal with people, you treat them right.
As you seek after mercy, you are mindful to extend to others the same mercy that God has extended greatly to you. You are full of God’s love and compassion. Anytime you need mercy, you ask for it. Anytime someone needs your mercy, you give it away. You keep others right with you, and you keep yourself right with the Father. Both God and man will honor you for the way that you live before them. It will keep you as a man above reproach and as a light for Him.
If you desire to have God’s kind of success and honor in your life, simply live right and be merciful. Jesus has made you righteous and there are no chains–you are free to be this kind of man.
Prayer: Father, thank You for this simple but powerful truth. Help me to apply it in my everyday living. I desire to be a light of Your love and compassion. Help me to trust in Your ways. Help me to live right and be merciful, and I will watch You do great things in and through me. Be glorified in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
