Living in God

October 26, 2017

“I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.” John 17:15-16, NKJV

It would be great if we weren’t in the world, but we are. It would be great if all we had to do was wake up and walk with God, yet we have a daily life. I have asked myself how do I live in God, yet live in the world at the same time? As a man, I have so many work demands and pulls, so many daily things to do. Yet, I have a relationship with God to maintain, while having to live in this world. How do I do it?

Jesus was not of this world, this “cosmos” or system, so he didn’t live according to it, nor was he bound by it. So He lived according to another system, the kingdom of God, a system based on abiding in God. Therefore, He would wake up and walk with God. As He walked with God, the Father governed His life. He told Him what to do, how to do it, when to do it, where to go, and when to rest. When you manage your relationship with God, He will manage your life. He will tell you what His will is, how to do your job, when to do those plans he put in your heart, minister to your family, where to go. Along with His will, He will provide the grace to carry it out.

Prayer: Thank You Father that I am not of this world. You are all that I need. I truly can abide in You, while in the world. You are my strength, wisdom, and guide. Help me to do what I would do in Heaven–I would just wake up and walk with You and trust You will govern my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
