Let the word be your mirror

August 18, 2018

“But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does” James 1:25, NKJV.

In the morning, even as men, at some point we are going look into the mirror. Once we see ourselves and determine we are ready, we are literally free, liberated, of that concern. We know how we look and we go on our way.

The Word of God is as a mirror, but a different type. You don’t literally see yourself like in a natural one. In His word, we don’t see who we are; God tells us who we are. It is as a mirror that we look into and it tells us who we are free to be in Christ.

Therefore, when you read “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens you” (Philippians 4:13), the Almighty God is showing you yourself and that He made you able. His word will be just like a mirror, a perfect law of liberty, and when you are challenged, boldly remind yourself that you overcome it. When you read “No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God” (1 John 3:9), you see that there is a seed of His Spirit, seed of His character in you, you are born of God and there’s no sin that can rule your life. His word tells you you’re not the same man anymore and you’re free.

No matter what the devil says, agree with God and say who you are. Remind yourself to operate according to the mirror of God’s word and you will be blessed in all you put your hands to.

Prayer: Thank You Father for looking into the perfect law of liberty–Your word. I receive who You tell me I am and what I can do. Therefore, I declare Christ lives in me and I am able! I am Your son. I am born of God. Help me not to be a forgetful hearer and I thank You that I am blessed in all I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
