It’s a New Year

January 1, 2018

“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead” Philippians 3:13, NKJV.

For many of us, 2017 was the best year of our lives. So many great things happened and God brought so many dreams came to pass. For others, you honestly feel like 2017 couldn’t have been worse. You had some losses, took some wrong turns and you couldn’t wait for 2018 to come.

Well, it is here. Thank God for a new year and a new start. No matter how your 2017 went, the truth is it’s old and it is gone. It may have had some hurts and made some mistakes, but it’s gone my brother. The key is to only bring into 2018 the wisdom you can learn from it, but that’s it. Don’t bring anything old into the new. Let go of then, so it doesn’t effect your now. Forgive what they did, so you can receive what He’s doing.

As long as you are living, that is the Lord’s way of telling you there’s a second chance for you. The devil, who is the father of lies, says it won’t get better, but the Lord, who never lies, says to trust Him that it will. Last year wasn’t the end. You can make the choices for a different outcome. Believe and receive what He is speaking to your heart about what He is going to do in your life. It’s a new year. Your best is ahead of you and now move forward into it!

Prayer: Father I have to admit, 2017 didn’t go like I thought, but it is a new year and a fresh start. As I pray to You, I let go of the old and receive the new. I let go of the past and receive what You are speaking to me right now about my new year. Show me Your will for me and my family. Help me to obey you. I thank You 2018 will be the best year of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
