Learning to prepare for your next season.

April 30, 2019

“The lazy man will not plow because of winter; he will beg during harvest and have nothing” Proverbs 20:4, NKJV.

“Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise. Without having any chief, officer, or ruler, she prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food in harvest” Proverbs 6:6-8, NKJV.

The most disappointing moments I’ve experienced is not that God didn’t provide, or the opportunity didn’t come. It wasn’t even that I didn’t clearly see what God had for me. My greatest disappointments have been when they came, yet I wasn’t prepared to seize them.

Farmers plant in the Spring, so they can reap in the Fall. Learn to prepare in one season for another. Learn to prepare in one season for the next. Sow in your time of planting, so you can reap in your time of harvest. Whether naturally with your financial state, or spiritually regarding a work you are called to, the Holy Spirit is showing you something. Trust what the Holy Spirit is showing you is to come and diligently prepare for it.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for Your everlasting word. It will never fail, because You never fail. Teach me to be a wise and diligent man, preparing in one season for the next. Make it clear to me Holy Spirit what is to come. I declare I’ll be ready when Your blessing comes. I’ll be prepared and reap my harvest. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
