Lead Your Family

January 17, 2018

“By faith [with confidence in God and His word] Noah, being warned by God about events not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his family. By this [act of obedience] he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness which comes by faith” Hebrews 11:7, Amplified.

Noah did what men in the world around him weren’t doing. He had a relationship with God. He had a heart after the Lord and He heard His voice of instruction to do something. Up to that point, it had not rained on the earth, yet Noah heard God tell him to build an ark. He then walked by faith, obeyed God and built an ark for him and his family to be saved from the flood to come.

Like Noah, as men being the head of our families, we ought to lead our family by our faith in God. He set the example for his family spiritually. He covered his family not only financially, but spiritually. He had his entire family on one accord helping to build something for God. He didn’t care about the persecution and ridicule from others around him. They probably said, “Look at that man having his family work like that and follow him. It’s never rained.” “He’s crazy!” Noah wasn’t moved by the pressures of those that didn’t believe. He didn’t consider how he looked according to the world and served the Lord.

As in Noah’s day, you’ll hear men that don’t believe in these times say, “I don’t pray with my family. Jesus isn’t real.” “You’re crazy for giving money for some kingdom. It’s only going to the pastor.” Some men who stopped believing will say, “I don’t go to church anymore. You shouldn’t either.” Don’t be moved. By faith keep building. Build what is centered completely in Jesus Christ to the saving of you and your household. Noah lead them by faith and seen God’s salvation and blessings, and so will you.

Prayer: Father, thank You for speaking to me to lead my family by faith. You are a good God and I am blessed to know You. Above all ways to lead my family, help me lead them spiritually. Make my home centered on Jesus Christ. Help me build what is eternal to the saving of me and my family. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
