Just Do It

February 21, 2020

“And David said to his son Solomon, Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord God—my God—will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord” 1 Chronicles 28:20, NKJV.

I remembered years ago, my wife and I went sky-diving for her birthday. It was an unforgettable experience. We went up 20,000 feet in the air and jumped out of this little airplane. As I walked up to and stood at the plane’s door right before the jump, I felt fear grip me; I could turn around and sit right back down in my seat, but I had literally come so far. I also had an instructor with me tandem jumping, so I wasn’t alone. I looked out at the wonder of God, and in a split second, I spread my arms wide and began to fly.

You may feel afraid but do it anyway.

Sometimes, you just have to do it. Forget the feelings, the second-guessing, the what if’s, and just do what God told you to do. You were made to fly with faith. You were made to live this God-given life with no regrets.

You are not alone. The best Instructor—the Holy Spirit—is taking the leap with you. The grace of God is with you. Only be strong and do it.

Prayer: Father, I give You all glory, praise, and honor today. I thank You for bringing me this far! I will let go and just do it. I feel afraid, but I will not allow fear to hold back my life. You are my Help Holy Spirit. I trust You, Lord, that You are with me and for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
