Jesus is confronting you.

February 10, 2020

“He said to him the third time, ‘Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?’ Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, ‘Do you love Me?’ And he said to Him, ‘Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Feed My sheep’ ” John 21:17, NKJV.

Have you ever had someone bring up something you didn’t want to deal with, but you had to in order to move forward? This is what Jesus did. He purposefully confronted the stumbling block of Peter. Jesus came to deal with the root of Peter’s pain.

My brother, God cares enough not to leave you where you are. For every mistake, every hurt, every loss, every letdown, and for every pivotal wrong turn in life, Jesus is confronting you and asking you, “Do you love me?” Let your response be yes, and do what you know He is asking of you. Move forward. What you have done is not who you are.

Prayer: Thank you, Father, for your truth. Thank you, Jesus, for confronting what is hindering me from doing what you are asking me to do. I love you, and since I do, I will do what you say. I receive Your mercy and grace right now. I will obey you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
