It’s tempting, but do what’s right.

“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly” Psalm 84:11, NKJV.

“Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him” James 1:12, NKJV.

Our 9-year old son likes to trade action figure cards. He ended up seeing a card he really wanted in a classmate’s book bag. He said he took the card out of his bag, but once he did, something didn’t feel right. As he was headed to the door to the leave, he said he had this bad feeling on the inside. So he turned around and put the card back. We were so proud of him, that we asked him what the name of the card was so we could buy it for him. He told us the name, but he said I already had it. We didn’t understand how could he have the card that he just said he put back? He said he met another boy in school that had the very same card he was about to steal and traded him for it! We erupted in a laughter, praise and said look at God rewarding our son for doing what’s right.

I am certain God erupts in joy when He watches you do what’s right. When you feel that tug on the inside to do anything, you follow the voice of His Spirit. God sees all that you do, even when in secret, you turn the temptation down. Resist that temptation of that woman, to steal, lie, cheat, not forgive, and all of the above, knowing God will reward you for making the right choice. You may not know how or when, but the very thing you desire God will give it to you, it could even happen the same day.

Prayer: Father, thank You for being so good and You see all the right things I do. Thank you for protecting cereal. No matter how easy and tempting it is to do what’s wrong, help me to obey Your Spirit on the inside and do what’s right. Help me to hear You say that you shouldn’t do it. You are a good God and I will trust You. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

I can’t say enough about how you’ve been a blessing in my life. Just the daughters of the king author is a well. I’ve made a mess of myself in the past and just recently. You have help through but this time it’s all me. I don’t want to bad or return to who I was (back sliding, permiscuity, alcohol). I just feel broken over from all the consequences in my life. I feel like I’ve wasted so much of my life. I attend church with my new bride. But, I hurt her too from me just being miserable with myself. God knows my heart, I just don’t know what my purpose is anymore. Thank you for getting me through some really hard times. May GOD himself come down and embrace you.
