It’s been a while.

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me” John 15:4, NKJV.

Maybe it’s been a while since you have spent time with God. Maybe it’s been a while since you have opened His Word and allowed Him to speak to you. Or, maybe it’s been a while since you went to church.

One or all of these could be you. Abiding in God, my friend, is where we belong. It’s hard to walk upright without Him. It’s hard to have joy and peace without Him. Even as strong of a man as you are, it’s hard to have strength apart from Him. He is the source of all that you are. He is the source of any fruit you are pursuing to bear in life. He is how you live, move and have your being.

It’s time to abide in Him again. It’s time to seek Him and hear His voice. It’s time to get back on track. Regardless of what you have done, decisions you’ve made or what you’ve been through, you are never too far from Him. Humble yourself as a man and receive His mercy and grace. Let Him restore you. Let Him lead you. The Father still has a purpose for His son.

Prayer: Father, I admit it’s been a while. Forgive me Lord. Help me to not be ashamed or condemn myself. I am before You this morning solely to seek You. Although You know, here is what’s been going on in my life. I receive Your mercy and grace. Thank You Lord. I move everything out of the way, and I set You in Your proper place of my life. Give me the strength to abide in You every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
