It’s been a while.

June 8, 2019

“Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed” Mark 1:35, NKJV.

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me” John 15:4, NKJV.

Maybe it’s been a while since you’ve stepped away and spent time with God in His presence. Maybe it’s been a while since you’ve opened His Word and really allowed Him to speak to you. Or, maybe it’s been a while since you’ve went to church. One or all of these could be you.

Just as Jesus did, abiding in God my brother is where we belong. It’s hard to walk upright without Him. It’s hard to have joy and peace without Him. Even as strong of a man as you are, it’s hard to have strength apart from Him. He is the source of any fruit you are pursuing to bear in life, and He is how you live, move and have your being (see Acts 17:28).

It’s time to abide in Him again. It’s time to seek Him and hear His voice. It’s time to get back on track. Regardless of what you have done, decisions you’ve made or what you’ve been through, you are never too far from Him. Humble yourself as a man and receive His mercy and grace with no shame. Let Him restore your soul. Let Him lead you. The Father still has a purpose for His son.

Prayer: Father, I am before You this morning solely to seek You. I admit it’s been a while. Forgive me God. Help me to not to condemn myself. Although You know, here is what’s been going on in my life. I receive Your mercy and grace. Thank You Lord. May I set You in Your proper place and priority in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Study: Luke 5:15-16, & 6:12-13, John 15:5-8, Psalm 23:3, 1 John 1:9
