I Am That I Am

May 11, 2019

“And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you” Exodus 3:14, KJV.

God appeared to Moses telling him that He had seen the affliction of the people of Israel and He was sending him to tell Pharaoh to let His people go. The name I Am That I Am was given to Moses to tell the children of Israel. God wanted His children to know not Who He was, but Who He is.

I Am That I Am speaks of God being current and relative any situation, no matter how complex it is. I Am denotes that He is present right now to be active in your life–His son. I Am means He is not dead, He is alive! He is accessible. To use so simple of a name at that moment expresses His power and authority.

I Am That I Am. I am whatever good that you need.

God is whatever you need. Yesterday He was your Waymaker, and right now He will be your Waymaker. Yesterday He was your Provider and today He is your Provider. I Am peace. I Am your strength. I Am your deliverer. I Am your grace. I Am your wisdom. I Am your righteousness. I Am holy. I Am your prosperity. I Am your Father. The same God that moved for the children of Israel, will move for you. Turn to the great I Am.

Prayer: Father, You are the great and I reverence Your power and sovereignty. You are not in the past and You are not dead. You will be for me whatever I need You to be in every moment of my life. Help me to live according to Who you are. Just as You brought the children of Israel out, You will bring me out. I can turn to You at all times because You are I Am That I Am! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Study: Exodus 3, Psalm 46:1
