He’s Able

January 10, 2017

“And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform” Romans 4:21, KJV.

If you’ve been to a circus, one of their acts is the strongest man in the world. When you see him, He is beyond built and he is flexing his muscles for the entire audience to see. The announcer loudly says, “Yes! Look at him! Look at those muscles. He can bend a bow of steel! He can lift a van off of the ground! He is able to move an entire fleet of cargo! Watch him lift this 500 lb weight with his pinky finger!”

When we hear that God is able, we sometimes look at ourselves. We can’t see Jesus, but can we see our situation. We can find ourselves predetermining the possibilities, the victory, based on our own power rather than His. You can’t see Him, yet He says look at what I did for Joshua and Israel making the walls of Jericho fall. Look at how I was with Moses to deliver Israel from Egypt in mighty ways. Look at how, even after his mistakes, I restored Peter and empowered him to win three thousand souls. I even raised my Son Jesus from the dead. God announces His ability in His Word!

God is able. He needs your faith and obedience so you can see, so He can show you what He is capable of doing in you and for you.

His performance is not based upon your performance. It is the Father desiring to display His goodness and His love in your life. It’s time to step out on what He says, so you can see Him move it, lift what needs lifting, change what needs changing, empower you by His grace to do what you can’t do on your own.

Prayer: Father, thank You for Your Word. You truly are able and willing to move in my life in a mighty way. I take my eyes off of me and look upon Jesus. You are able to get me back on track. Nothing is impossible through You! Help me to give You my faith and obedience so I can experience what You can do. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
