Cooperating with Holy Spirit

October 30, 2018

“Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia” Acts 16:6, NKJV.

As Paul went forward in spreading the Gospel, there were some places that the Holy Spirit told him not to go. For whatever reason, he was forbidden to go to Asia. The Holy Spirit also told him don’t go to Bithynia. However, he was given a vision from God about a man in Macedonia, and that’s where he knew the Holy Spirit is leading him to go. Paul had a powerful relationship with the Holy Spirit, cooperating with Him, allowing Him to lead the way.

As Paul cooperated with the Holy Spirit, so can you. It is possible to be guided by the Spirit of God even now, right where you are in your life. Some things the Holy Spirit is firmly telling you not to go or do. There are also things He has placed on your heart to do. Listen to Him. There is a direction or course that the Holy Spirit is telling you to take, and if you follow Him and follow His peace, He will lead you into God’s will for you.

God has much to bless you with, much to accomplish in you and through you. Stay sensitive to His leading. God is greatly desiring to bless you and move in your life, yet it requires you to cooperate with, working hand-and-hand with the Holy Spirit.

Prayer: Father, thank You for Your Spirit, whom I have to lead and guide me. Help me recognize when You are speaking to me, Holy Spirit. I ask for the answers, the clarity, and the direction I need for my life. If You need to give me a vision or dream, give me a vision or dream. Day by day, teach me Holy Spirit to check in with You and cooperate with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Study: Acts 16:6-10, John 14:16-17 & 26, 16:13; Galatians 5:25
