A Real Man Cries

March 17, 2017

“Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong” 2 Corinthians 12:10, KJV.

There is nothing wrong with a man crying. I have wept before my wife. I have had moments where I have wept before God. I poured out my heart to Him desiring a change in me that I knew I needed, yet I could not explain.

A real man cries when he realizes he needs real change. We cry when we become tired of pretending as if we have it all together; yet, we don’t have the slightest idea of what we’re doing or where we’re going. You may not want to appear weak, but your weakness and brokenness is required for God to do what’s needed in your life. Quit running. Stop and cry before your Father. Lay before Him and allow Him to take your heaviness and pain, for His peace. Crying will refresh you as you release it over to Him. When you are weak, you are made strong in Christ.

You are a real man with real needs, and you serve a real God. Let Him create in you a clean heart and renew you. God will give you His strength, and you will know you can go on now. You will know that through Him, you can do this. You were built for this. Be a real man and cry.

Prayer: I am without words before You Father. I am at the end of myself and I need You. I can’t change myself. I can’t do this on my own. I try to appear so strong, but I am so weak. I pour out my heart before You and ask You to do in my life what only You can do. Reach deep within me and repair me. Fill me where I lack. Touch my desires and bring permanent change in me. I thank You for moving in my life. Help me do what You have called me to do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
