“The second is like to it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for others]” Matthew 22:39, Amplified.
“Like apples of gold in settings of silver Is a word spoken at the right time” Proverbs 25:11, Amplified.
I come across a lot of people, and I find that everyone likes it when you express to them they are doing a good job, how great of a person they are, or when they are impacting your life. People, men as well, always brighten up when you do. People light up when, at the right moment, you give a good word in season to them.
Pursue not to withhold your praise of others. If someone did a good job, tell them they did. If a waiter at a restaurant or representative serves you well, compliment them, even to their manager. If someone is inspiring, tell them they are inspiring you. You never know just how much that good word will encourage them to go on. This is how we love our neighbor as ourselves in the smallest ways.
Prayer: Father, thank You for being able to love people in the smallest ways. Help me to compliment others or encourage whenever I can, even with my wife and kids too. Keep teaching me how to others as myself. I would want someone to do the same toward me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
