Keep Your Lamp Burning

April 5, 2020

“Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning” Luke 12:35, NKJV.

Keeping your lamp burning is comprised of trimming the wick within it, and making sure your oil never runs out. It can be easy to allow your lamp to quit burning, but I don’t let it. It may be darkness all around you, there may be unbelief all around you but keep your lamp burning.

With honesty, recognize when you need oil. His Spirit and His anointing are symbolic of His oil, and you can come into His presence to be filled and refreshed when you are low. Trim your wick and keep what is important to God, important to you. Remain balanced and keep following Christ as first in your life. Keep praying, praising, and seeking the Lord through His word. Continue to desire His will to be done in You. You don’t want any blessings no other way than His way in your life. You are ready to serve, open to being used for His service. Your light in you is shining, ready to show someone the way.

Jesus isn’t here yet, but He’s coming–even when you don’t expect Him to. Keep your lamp burning!

Prayer: Father, I give You praise. Help me to remain ready, and in the midst of the darkness right now, keep my lamp burning. Keep me on fire for You! I will abide in Your presence and in Your word. Use me greatly in these times. I’m ready for any service You desire of me. May my heart stay focused and after You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Study: Luke 12:35-48, Matthew 5:16 & 25:1-4
