“Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work, so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way” James 1:2-4, Message Bible.
Sometimes, we’re in a hurry for God to work something out, but maybe God is working on us. We want God to change it, but God is desiring a greater purpose to be fulfilled and a greater work to be made known. The Father is forming Christ in you.
Let it hit home that He’s using the trial to wonderfully change you. Count it all joy when you find you can’t call on anyone but Him. He’s blessing you. It’s your greatest blessing to have God make your faith genuine. When He makes your faith stand not on what He does, but in Who He is. So, in times of plenty or trouble, you are the same because your God is the same. He is with you, He loves you, and will rescue you.
Prayer: Father, thank you for your great love toward me. It’s hitting me you are speaking and molding me even in the trial. Complete the work you’ve started in me. Form Christ in me. I count it all joy. I will yield and allow your good and perfect work to be done in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
