“When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord” John 20:20, NKJV.
The disciples were in hiding for fear of the Jews after Jesus’ death. In the middle of what they were going through, Jesus declares peace to them, and then shows them His hands and His side. It made the difference. It gave them peace and made them glad.
What Jesus did for you is real. It is eternally confirmed in His hands and His side. Let His hands and His side cause you to declare He is alive! You are forgiven. You are saved and have eternal life. We can have hope despite what I go through. Receive great peace in the middle of it because Jesus is going to remind you of what He did, what all comes with His hands and His side. He paid a heavy price in His hands, so that you can raise yours right now! So that you can lift holy hands in the toughest moments of life. He was pierced in His side, so that you can rest, knowing you are eternally seated beside Him in victory. Even in the fire, He is with you, and you are made glad.
Let His hands and His side stir your faith today and make you glad!
Prayer: Father, thank You for sending Your Son for me. Jesus, You paid a price for my victory in this life. It shows through the scars on Your hands and the piercing of Your side. I receive that debt of sin has been paid, and I’m forgiven and free. I receive that I have overcome in all things, and I’m glad. No matter what I go through, help me to know it will work out for me because of Your hands and Your side. I am deeply encouraged today. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!
