“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you” Ephesians 4:32, NKJV.
There’s a saying for when two people let it go and forgive each other, and it’s called burying the hatchet. The Father knows you both have been at odds with each other. God says it’s been long enough. Forgive.
Allow the healing that God desires to begin. Allow the restoration God desires to begin. This is a temporal life. Make your decisions based on an eternal one. If Joseph can forgive his brothers for selling him into slavery and suffering in prison, so can you. If Jesus can forgive those who zealously crucified Him, so can you. If God for Christ’s sake, forgave you for all your sins, you can humble yourself and forgive.
Prayer: Father, I give You all the praise, honor, and glory. You know where I am, and You knew how to speak to me. You’re right, Lord. It’s been too long. I will forgive. I will not go on in my life with this any longer. Wash my heart and theirs. Heal my heart and theirs. Help me not to be concerned with their response, but only be focused on my response to You, and Your command is to forgive. Love pleases You. Through You, Jesus, I’m forgiven, and through You I will forgive too. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
