“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” Philippians 3:13-14, NKJV.
There are some things in our past, even this year, that we can’t do anything about or change. There’s nothing you can do. No repeats. No do-overs. It can be challenging, but we have to accept that. It holds us up from hearing and seeing God right now. No one sees us, but in our hearts, we’re still rehearsing what we should have done, what could have been, who hurt us, and who betrayed us. Stop tinkering with the past. You can’t change your race, but you are called to finish it. Find out what God is saying to you, and then, to the best of your ability, do what He says to walk out His plan for your life.
It’s great to know that despite the past, there are still great plans for you! God says it’s still intact. Let go and forgive. Let go and take hold of the Holy Spirit’s leading. Don’t take what happened this year into 2026. Learn from it, but don’t take it with you. Trust God for more.
Prayer: Father, I praise you and thank you for speaking to me in a real way. I have to let it go and move with You now. I have to forgive, even myself, and move on with You now. Help me to let go of the past and embrace my now. As I step into the blessing of a new year, help me to see and hear You right now. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
