“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing” 2 Timothy 4:7-8, NKJV.

We are to love His appearing. We are to be on the edge of our seats awaiting Jesus’ coming. There is nothing preventing Jesus from coming back at any time, even today. This helps keep everything in your life in perspective, and all of your labor of love for God is not in vain.

Yes, sometimes it is tough being a man, yet it is good fight–a victorious one. Like Paul, continue to fight the good fight of faith, and let the Lord encourage you. Keep loving God and loving people. Listen for His voice as if you will not hear Him again. Obey God as if your life and calling depend on it because it does. Lay aside every weight and any sin that so easily ensnares you. Set your affections on things above and finish your course. The eternal reward of the Lord will be great, and your crown awaits you.

Confession: I give up what this world has to offer. I set my heart and my eyes totally on the Lord. I will obey God like never before, loving the appearance of Jesus Christ. When He comes, I will be ready. I have been given His grace, His empowerment, for my race. I am encouraged today! When I finish my course, when this life is over, I have a crown of righteousness and eternal rewards awaiting me. Thank You Lord!
