Words that affect a man’s confidence

“Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose.” Proverbs 18:21, Message Bible

I was in a conversation with a friend and he shared how he was teased when he was younger. It seemed like it would have no bearing on them in their lives. Yet, they are much older now, and they contend with those same words, affecting their confidence in some areas.

No words have more power than the word of God and what He says about you. God’s truth will break any hold on you, heal you and free you to be who He created you to be with confidence. He says you can do all things through Christ which strengthens you. He says He is with you and won’t fail you. He is Who your confidence stands in. Your faith doesn’t stand in your own power or ability, but in God’s. Choose to receive His truth deep down within you and the confidence you need to launch out into whatever God is instructing you to do.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for Your truth. No one knows, but I need You to minister to and heal me in this area. I ask for more confidence. I ask that You uproot any destructive words that have affected my confidence in who I am, even without knowing, and I choose to receive Your word. I receive what You say about me. I put my confidence in You. Nothing can stop You, therefore, nothing can stop me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
