“But make sure that you don’t get so absorbed and exhausted in taking care of all your day-by-day obligations that you lose track of the time and doze off, oblivious to God. The night is about over, dawn is about to break. Be up and awake to what God is doing! God is putting the finishing touches on the salvation work he began when we first believed” Romans 13:11, Message Bible.

I woke up in the middle of the night one day and was wide awake. God spoke to me and said, “This is how I want you to be. While others are sleeping, I want you to be awake. I want you to be awake to the calling I have on your life. I want you to be awake to the labor you need to do with the time that I give you. I want you to be awake like the ant, who prepares in the summer to be ready when the winter comes. I want you to be awake to the times you are in. I want you to be awake to how I desire to bless you.”

Some are sleeping in these times, but don’t be deceived. Be wide awake. Jesus is soon to come. Draw closer and closer to the Lord. Things you used to prioritize, yield to the Holy Spirit telling you to love it to that degree no longer. When others aren’t studying and praying, you are. When other men keep to themselves, you are calling other men and seeing how they are doing–praying with them, encouraging them. While some men aren’t going to church, you are going and getting involved. When other men are just working a job, you are working God’s plan. Be awake today.

Prayer: Father, You are good and I thank You today. While others are sleeping, help me to be wide awake. I pray we all are awake to Jesus. I pray we are all awake to your coming, Lord, walking in closeness with you. I ask that Your grace be multiplied in my life and I thank You for living strong this life you’ve given me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
