“As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust” Psalm 103:13-14, NKJV.

We all make mistakes. We all make wrong turns in life. As a result, we can be hard on ourselves. When we are looking more at what’s behind us than what God has ahead of us. When a view of yourself turns from constructive to destructive. When discouragement outweighs encouragement.

Take a moment to realize your frame and what you are made of. Not just your physical frame but your upbringing, makeup, and experiences. Sometimes, we forget and hold ourselves to a higher standard than God, Whose mercy is as high as the heavens. Yet, He treats us as we do our own children, with the understanding of who they are. They are growing, and we love them unconditionally. We tend not to be so hard on them. Your heavenly Father is this way toward you. He knows what you are made of. He knows you are growing and like your own children, He loves you unconditionally. Receive His love today and live.

Prayer: Father, I love you, and praise you for being the greatest example of showing mercy toward me. I choose to not receive condemnation, but your mercy. I receive it today. Your grace abounds towards me. Help me not to be so hard on myself. Help me to extend the same mercy and grace to myself and others too. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
