When you see what God is up to.

“…But the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 1 Kings 19:11-13, NKJV.

God wasn’t in the earthquake or the fire. He was in the still, small voice, and Elijah heard His God.
As men, we can live daily, going through a repetition of life, yet God is up to much more in our lives. We could be in a situation but not hear God in it. We can be dissatisfied with where we are in life and know there’s more He has for us but not see God in it. That’s when you slow down, step back from it all in prayer, and look for God in it.

In the challenge, He’s there. In the dissatisfaction, the rocky road, the stagnant place, He’s in all of it. He is asking whether you hear Him. Hear His still, small voice speaking to you about some decisions you need to make, some things you must take a step into. Hear His direction. Hear Him say He’s working it for your good, and He will get the glory from it. There is something deeper He’s bringing to pass in your life than you think, beyond the circumstance, beyond what you see. Perceive it and walk by faith into His plan for you. It will cause you to praise Him, leap, and bring rest to your soul when you see what God is up to.

Prayer: Father, thank you. I needed this. Help me step back in prayer and see You in my life. You’re speaking and moving. Help me discern what You are telling me and guide me forward into Your plans with faith. There’s more than what’s in my hands, and I desire what You have for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
