Vigilant in moments of transition.

“Being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry. Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time” Luke 4:2-3, & 13, NKJV.

When Jesus was born into the earth, the devil tried to stop his coming. When Jesus was exiting the wilderness and entering into his ministry, the very thing he was called to do, the devil came while he was hungry and tempted him. One thing you will find in scripture is that the devil watches and attacks during very important moments of transitions.

When I look back on all the moments of transition in my own life, the devil tried to keep me from making them. During those times, you want to especially walk closely with the Lord, receive His plan, and be very diligent to follow it. As you are walking with Him, the Holy Spirit will show you things to come. He will reveal things about your new transition and what you are entering into. Those are the times to be sober and watchful for any distraction, subtle trickery, or scheme from the wicked one to derail you from God’s plan and advancing the kingdom.

Even as a father, when you notice your children entering into key moments of transitions in their lives, be there to share with them what is to come, and pour into them the godly wisdom and insight they will need. Whether it’s the change from high school to college, college to finding their purpose, or singleness to marriage, these are especially the times to not be ignorant of Satan’s devices, and to watch over them to help them successfully walk out God’s will for their lives.

Prayer: Father, thank You for this insight about moments of transition. Let me follow your plan and not be ignorant of the devil’s devices. Holy Spirit show me what is to come for myself and my family. I will lay hold of your will, your blessings and advance your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
