She likes you, but it’s not worth it.

“And it came to pass after these things, that his master’s wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me. There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” Genesis 39:7, 9, KJV.

“I’m married, but she likes me. This attractive woman likes me and wants me”. Joseph would tell you I’ve been there. A woman liked him and wanted him badly. She was the wife of Potiphar, a captain of the guard and an officer of Pharaoh, so you know she had to be beautiful. Nothing was withheld from Joseph, and he could have had anything in Potiphar’s house, except for her. Yet, he told Potiphar’s wife, “how can I then do this great wickedness against God and sleep with you?”

Joseph wasn’t a covenant with a wife yet, but he was in covenant with God. Your relationship with God is where you can find the strength and integrity to resist her. If you’re married, your relationship with God is what will empower you to honor your wife. He has blessed you with everything you have. Dare not give up everything for the destruction hidden behind a moment of pleasure.

She likes you, but you love your wife. Like Joseph, most of all, you love God.

Prayer: Father, this woman likes me, but Father I love You, I love my wife, I love my kids, and I love my life. It’s not worth it. You have blessed me and You, above all, are worth it. Help me nurture my wife, and love her as Christ loves the church and gave himself for it. Fill my mouth on how to tell this woman. Help me to let her witness seeing a true godly man and just as Joseph did, I will not sin against You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
