“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy” James 3:17, NKJV.
“For whoever finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the Lord” Proverbs 8:35, NKJV.
When you are searching for the will of God, the Father gives us some powerful descriptions of His wisdom to help us identify it, including that it will first be pure. It will be morally and spiritually undefiled. It will be perfect. If you are doing it being driven by pleasing people or for perception, you can know that direction is not from God. If you are doing it because you seek the applause of men, if you are marrying or dating her just because of her body, it’s not pure. With all of your decisions, from what you do with your money, to what church you are planted in, let them be pure before the Lord.
If we look at everything through the lens of God’s word, it will filter out all our decisions, and the simple, peaceable wisdom of God will stand, confirmed by His Spirit and His favor the right way to go.
Prayer: Father, thank You for speaking to me. I believe this truth is going to help me make wise decisions, even in the heat of the moment. May all my decisions be pure. Help me to seek Your word to filter my decisions, and I thank You as I find wisdom, I will find life and favor from You! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
