“Then the king said to me, “What do you request?” So I prayed to the God of heaven. And I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, I ask that you send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers’ tombs, that I may rebuild it.” Then the king said to me (the queen also sitting beside him), “How long will your journey be? And when will you return?” So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time” Nehemiah‬ ‭2‬:‭4‬-‭6‬, NKJV.

In the moment, Nehemiah stopped and prayed a short prayer, and God answered him. You can stop and pray in the moment. You don’t have to feel rushed or afraid. God’s will is that you always have time to acknowledge Him. If Nehemiah can do it before a king, you can do it before anybody. You can stop and pray to the God of heaven. He will fill your mouth and give you not only what to say but how to say it. How to ask. How to communicate. It’s awesome to know that God is so present in your life that you can ask of Him in the moment and He will powerfully help you. He powerfully touches hearts. You can stop and pray for favor right before you ask for it. Your small prayer will make the biggest difference.

Nehemiah just asked for time for the wall in Jerusalem to be rebuilt, but God touched the heart of the king to give him not only what he asked for, but also the resources to do it with, giving Nehemiah beyond what he could ask for or imagine. God never just meets our requests. He abundantly exceeds it. So, pray in the moment.

Prayer: Father, I thank You that I can always call on You even in the very moment. Help me not to be pressured or afraid because, according to Your will and Your word, I always have time to pray. Therefore, like Nehemiah, I right now pray to the God of heaven, and I make my request known to You. I believe You will abundantly answer. Do beyond what I can ask for or imagine. I give You and You alone all the praise for it. In Jesus name, Amen!
