“For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation” Ephesians 2:14 NKJV.
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” John 14:27 NKJV.
We usually define peace as a state of the quietness of mind, but God’s peace is much deeper. Peace means “Shalom” in Hebrew and “Eirini” in Greek. It means to have nothing missing, to be complete, to be whole, to restore, to have nothing broken.
Here’s an example. My previous manager and her husband had a new house built. It wasn’t just any house, it was built with many antique items, from the front door, hardwood flooring shipped in, the man cave, and more. However, the one thing that was missing was her kitchen cabinets. Although they had everything else, the house wasn’t complete and wasn’t whole until those cabinets were installed. She told me she and her husband finally got their kitchen cabinets. Now her home was “Shalom”. “Eirini”. Complete–nothing missing, nothing broken.
You may have many things in your life, but you don’t feel you are shalom, or your life isn’t whole or complete. I don’t know what you may be missing, but you may be missing some courage. You may be missing some healing from your past, so you can move forward. You may need some self-control or confidence. You could be needing patience, a rekindled fire, or overcoming something that’s hindered you.
Jesus is your peace. He is Who makes you whole and complete. He became our peace, restoring our relationship with God, and He is our source for everything we need, no matter where we find ourselves in life. He supernaturally makes the difference. Believe on Him today to have nothing missing, nothing broken.
Prayer: Thank you, Jesus, for being my shalom, my peace. Supernaturally complete me and make me whole. I believe on you to have nothing missing or borken in my life. I’m restored to the Father and I’m restored in my life. I thank you for this peace today. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen!
