“He also spoke this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?’ But he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.’ ”” Luke‬ ‭13‬:‭6‬-‭9‬, NKJV‬‬.

Your real desire is you really want to change. There are things that you do that you don’t want to do no more. Areas that have long been neglected but you know they need to change. God can’t do what He wants to do through your life without it. There are things that must go, and they will go this year. It goes no further than this year. You’re letting it go this year. You’re moving on this year. It may not feel good, but that’s how your real desire will come to pass. Wrong desires will be confronted and uprooted, so the Lord can plant new ones. So He can refresh you, and remove the old to bring about something new. He will rekindle a real desire for Jesus, and for His word. That’s the change you seek. That’s the change you will receive.

Prayer: Father, thank you for giving me my real desire which is change. I desire to bear fruit in my life for you. I desire to be all you created me to be. Help me surrender completely to your instructions and do real change this year. That’s my holy desire. This will be my best year ever. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
